The wife (Jen) of my favorite missionary companion (Brett) has an awesome cookie recipe. We have been making it at least once a month since they gave us the recipe 8 years ago. What makes them especially wonderful and strange is that they are better the older they get. (Till about three days, then they are still good but they taste old.)
Here it is:
Combine in a bowl and mix:
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
In another bowl mix:
1 cup soft butter
2/3 c brown sugar
1 and 1/3 c brown sugar
1 and 1/2 tsp vanilla
2 large eggs
Combine flour a little at a time w/ other bowl.
Fold in 1 pkg. chips and 2 cups nuts
Bake 350 for 12 min.
Accidently eat them all before they can be delivered to home teaching family.

I am assuming that one of the brown sugars is supposed to be granulated. Which one? 2/3 cup or 1 and 1/3 cups? Looks yummy.
Are you going to explain how we make four batches a month because each week they get accidently eaten? Also, 1 and 1/3 cup is the granulated sugar.
Bry, they have the red balloon book at the bookstore in Afton.
Also, if you are interested in the 2.0 version, if you grind up some oatmeal and substitute it for flour (figure out your own ratio, or add it in addition to the flour) you will get a chewier cookie. Mmmm!
